Why do many women complain that men aren't chivalrous anymore?

When was the last time that you saw a woman treat a male stranger as if he was something special for no reason other than just to be kind? Never? Thought so.

I've noticed that many women act like jerks toward strangers, and then complain that no one is ever kind toward them without an agenda.

If women want strangers to practice random acts of kindness toward them, then what is wrong with YOU setting the example by doing the same to others? Afraid that people will get the wrong idea if you do? If so, is it any surprise that male chivalry is dead also?

Update:

@B: Thanks for the cookie. I want chocolate chip.

I don't complain about men not being chivalrous, I am not surprised at how rude many women and men are towards each other, so I don't expect ppl to be helpful. On the other hand, that doesn't mean I won't help the elderly, pregnant, disabled, or small children-I was taught to be helpful to those in need, and I appreciate it when others are courteous as well.

Chivalry hasn't exsisted for 100s of years. Chivalry is a code of Knights its not a gentleman's code of ethic. Pulling a chair out and commencing a door is only being polite and respectful everyone could try this in the time of spite of gender.

I wish women were chivalrous -- y'know, opening doors, pulling out chairs, carrying things, paying (lol), etc. But on the whole, the idea is somewhat superficial. It doesn't matter in the grand scheme of things, really.

I actually do those random acts of kindness all the time. Just today I held the door open for a guy carrying a bunch of pizza boxes to my building.

I actually never complain about men being chivalrous because they always are to me. I don't think, not once in at least 3 years have I ever had to open a door to a building if there was a man in my presence.

Maybe its my friendly and unassuming manner that says, "this young lady needs a little kindness, because she gives it out'.

And, I always help out the tourists when they seem lost or about to head on a bus that takes them to Shaw when they really need to be going to the Smithsonian...poor tourists.

I think women claim there's no such thing as chivalry because when women sought equal rights, they threw that idea out the window without realizing it. I like being able to have a job, but I hate feminists.

There you go Randy G. That's tellin' them. They brought it on themselves what with their women libber stuff. If they want to act like George Raft then they'll get treated like George Raft. (For those who don't know, George Raft was on old time movie star tough guy. He's dead and probably pretty stinky by now so doesn't mind being used in this derogatory manner. Probably)

Women don't know what they want, half of the time.
