Which is better, S&W Round Butt or Square Butt?
I'm looking at buying a S&W 64 from J&G Sales in Prescott, and they have square butt models for 239.99, or round butt for 249.99. Can anyone give me an answer if one is better than the other? I will be carrying the gun for personal defense and doing target shooting with it, so as far as grips go I would like something smaller profile but enough to fit my whole hand on. Thanks
Shogun: So far you are winning. And I like the end. That's funny.
Tiger: You are a failure, and I would approve if you died.

It is really a matter of preference, as it doesn't effect accuracy unless your hand doesn't fit. Some prefer the square for a more solid grip during recoil. The real advantage to a round butt is it hides inside your waist band better. The square butt causes more of a lump. You can always buy custom grips later. I am a large guy with a round butt S&W model 60 and I have no problem shooting it, but I have been handling revolvers for 38 years. To be honest I prefer a solid round athletic butt, but that's another topic.....

Im sure i know what you mean. There is concavity on your hip sides, you dont necessarily have a flat butt. Im sure your butt is round and its just your hips seem flat on the sides. from a side perspective you have a nice . Round butt but from behind the shape isnt as satisfying to you. This is normal and in my experience just keep working out; do a ton of squats and lunges. But building muscle is key- so make sure to eat plenty of protein (ppreferably chicken) and do less reps but with more weight. Try a weight vest or normal weights. The goal here is to grow and tone the muscle to the point where it protrudes over that concavity in your hips, giving it that round look. The alternalive is getting a brazilian lift and a transfer of fat to that area but try to do it with your own effort naturally first. It will feel much better to say you worked hard for your body rather than say you paid for It (i feel surgery is cheating)

I prefer the Square butt myself for the feel, grip, and the way it fits my hand so much better.*
