Update:

I wrote this poem when I was a freshman in college.

was reminded of it when one of my contacts posted

this question in P&S:

Update 2:

I was heavily under the influence of,

um, ...e.e.cummings, when I wrote this.

Update 4:

@Stephen R:

Thank you for your input. I respect your opinion.

Often, both are artfully deceptive. Art can be poetic in its power to inspire, while poetry can be art from the images it creates in the mind's eye (not the hidden one).

This was my answer to your inspiration link.

Perspective is everything. With your hand on its surface, the Pyramid of Khufu is just a crooked wall.

Edit: Your description of the handiwork of the hidden eye explains the present condition of our government no matter which party is in power.

Yes. Rap is the most poetic form of music out there. Rap has good storytelling, multi-syllable rhyming, a nice flow, etc... I could go on and on about how poetic Hip Hop is.

  • I'd say that poetry is a form of art, but art isn't always poetic. That's an interesting, and interestingly structured poem you have there, though.

    I hear light blues

    of paths of Plath's

can I just have an oatmeal cream pie instead?

I pretend like they are healthy...

I like this! and yes, how did you tame yahoo, even if for this moment?

Poetry is a form of art that can be expressed in many ways.

Art can be poetic metaphorically speaking.

This poem* reminds me of the near insanity that studying modern and post-modern art in Art History brought me to. This poem* has more meaning than most modern art had, because the meaning was intended rather than found.

I have to say, it was pop art that brought me back from my mind's edge.

*denotes the word is being used in the sense that it is used today, rather than its proper use.

Source(s): Note, I don't think free verse is "bad" or less demanding/impressive than rhymed poetry, I just think it deserves a different label.

Truly unique - words - letters - forms. And one did not get too abstract- like the P&S question. [where art has lost its meaning]. Great mastery - of the written visual ♥
