Should I inform my doctor that I want to conceive?

My husband and I want to try to conceive in March. I have my yearly in two weeks should I inform my dr. about our choice. The reason why I ask is because I am 28 and have been on the pill for 12yrs. I get terrible migraines with my cycle so I have been on seasonique for 2yrs so I only have my cycle every 3 months. To complicate matters I am on an antianxiety pill because i could not handle being laid off in August 2008. I am not working ft and love my job again. I also have bad hips. I was in a car wreck in 2005 and now my hips pop in and out of place frequently.

Am I supposed to share all this with my doctor before I ttc or do most people just wait? I know this is a lot.

Please give me advice and a reason.

TYIA

Ps. I do not have health insurance right now and my husband and I make to much for me to get gov. assistance so know ugly comments please.

Update:

Sorry I left out we get Insurance in March, thats open enrollment for my husband job. We are waiting til March because of that.

I would definitely tell your doctor. Most anti-anxiety meds aren't safe during pregnancy (unless the benefits far outweigh the risks), so he'll probably want to wean you off of them before you try to conceive. Also, if your hips are messed up, you may have problems later in your pregnancy (carrying the weight of the baby) and will have to be put on bed rest.

If you don't have health insurance and can't get medicaid, I'd wait for a while before having kids. Deliveries are VERY expensive. And you'll also have to worry about your baby's checkups, immunizations, sick visits, etc.

Edit: Well since you're going to enroll in march, and it's a group plan, they can't deny you coverage if you get pregnant before then, so I'd say go for it! I would still tell your doctor everything though.

Well, if you are wanting to conceive in March or around that time, then it's a good idea to go ahead and ditch the Seasonique. I was only on it for 9 months before my husband and I decided we wanted to start trying. It took me almost 8 months to regulate and start ovulating on a normal basis after quitting it.

It would be a good idea to talk to your doctor about all of your medical issues before you start trying to conceive. If you do not have health insurance, it would be a good idea to get insurance before you get pregnant, because a lot of plans consider pregnancy a "pre-existing condition" and can refuse to cover you.

    Good luck to you.

i would talk to your dr. some of the meds you are on could be bad for the baby and if you do conceive could kill it. she/he could give you something different plus take you off the meds in time to conceive. some of those pills or meds last longer then you think in your system. the baby probably won't help your hip though. as it hurts your hips and lower back most of the late pregnancy. definitely talk to your dr soon though in order to make sure everything is safe.
