Health CARE is...brush your teeth, sleep, take you vitamins.
health INSURANCE is. & it should be YOUR reponsibility. The govt only uses the power over it to buy votes from certain groups.

Healing practices have been going on for thousands of years so in that sense I would consider it necessity but if we are talking about modern health care that a majority of get now now, it's a definitely a luxury in my opinion.

I hate to equivocate, but don't You consider your own health a luxury?
silly
of course Health care is a necessity.

A luxury only to be afforded to the wealthy and well connected.
America is over populated anyway, so 41,000 additional deaths of poor and middle-class Americans each year is a but small help.
I would volunteer to sit on a health insurance death panel, for free!

Health insurance should be for serious issues that require surgery or hospitalization. Why do I pay insurance to get a checkup or for routine visits? The problem with health insurance is it is too broad; therefore, it is too big. The idiots who say that car insurance is mandatory as an argument for mandatory health insurance leave out that it is only LIABILITY insurance that is mandatory. You are not required to insure fixing your own car if you choose not to.
Think about how much more expensive it would be to take care of routine things like car maintenance, appliance replacement, etc., if they were handled through an insurance company. The answer seems to be to eliminate most of the unnecessary insurance and shrink it to only what is required. That along with serious tort reform would eliminate much of the red tape and cost.
The person who abuses their things pays more to replace and fix them. Same thing with the fat people, who suck up most of the insurance money the rest of us pay.. If you choose to be fat, then you will pay more to repair your health. It seems pretty simple, but then again the current proposal is not really about health care is it???

the comparable argument skill that the extra instantaneous needs of healthful water and nutrition might desire to be offered by skill of the government in the past well being care. because of the fact i see no push to realize this, I might desire to think of that the concentration on well being care is approximately something different than "necessity". i call that something social engineering and/or boastful meddling by skill of a self-appointed elite into the procuring judgements of honestly everyone else.

Health Care is a necessity. Government-Controlled health care is not.

We have to insure that our children will have affordable health care in the future, so i would say a necessity
- ohbrotherLv 71 decade ago
Yes it is. Being forced to buy Health Care INSURANCE under threat of fines or jail from a Socialist Government is not.
