Does Fishing with a Lunar/Dramen Staff (in Runescape) increase the Rate at which you fish?

I know it sounds completely dumb, but someone said that Fishing with either staff makes you fish faster, and I naturally believed him because of the amount of fishers who wield them while fishing. If anyone can disprove or confirm this, please do so...no put downs about playing Runescape please...because if you have found this post, you obviously searched for it out of your own free will.

    I fish with a Lunar Staff constently. Not once have I caught Lobsters faster.

    So my answer is the guy told a "fishy" rumor! haha

    nop its same speed.. get ibis like +5 fishing levels (hidden) maked it much faster

    No it does not. I think that it gives fishing lvl bonus though?
