What kind of Beer should I get tonight?

I'm a bit of a beer snob, so if you give me some american standard Commercial beer you'll be getting thumbs down. I'm looking for something hoppy without a terribly high ABV%. Any ideas, looking to try something new. Already had Sierra Nevada Pale Ale and Hop Devil.

Beer snobs don't know beer they know attitude. If you fancy yourself knowledgeable about beer then you should know what to find to suit your interests. I say get both American brewed Belgian-style ales and Belgian imported beers (not Stella = sh*t).

The Allagash line up comes to mind here.

  • I've been loving Rogue "Dead Guy Ale" lately--it's a hoppy pale ale with about a 7% ABV....

Harpoon IPA is always good and readily available around the country

since you like hops you can get just about any pale ale or imperial pale ale (IPA)...

These are a few of my fav imports:

Kootenay Mountain Ale - quite dark and very smooth

    Beck's - like Corona...only a billion times better

Red Stripe - it's Jamaican, mon. Of course it's good!

Guinness - you know it's tasty...like coffee beer

Dunno if you'll like this cause you're a dude, but Alley Kat Aprikat is amazing. It's an apricot beer...my ex bf introduced me to it and I think it rocks.

    Where are you located?

The best beer I have ever had is called Yeungling~ but it is only in PA and surrounding states if I am not mistaken.

Fat Tire is everywhere these days. A great, popular beer with a craft-brew feel to it:
