Do I have to have some kind of permit to sell homeade candy at a craft fair in Georgia?

I've never done this, but I'm very interested in selling homemade candies at a craft fair in the state of Georgia. Do you know if I need some kind of permit? Also, do you know where to find other vendor information? Thanks so much!

..any place that you make food that is being sold to the public has to be inspected by your local health dept.legally you can not sell foods that you make at home.If you can find a small restaurant that is willing to let you use their kitchen to make your candies then you should have no problem.

As for permit...all you need is permission from the fairs organizer,,they normally charge a flat fee or a percentage from sales .

Normally an inspector will come on site and inspect your booth.

If you are making any foods on site...you will have to have a source of hot water...a sink to wash your hands, and 3 sinks one for wash, one for rinse and one for sanitize...

All in all your best bet is to call you local health inspector and fine out exactly what your state requires...

Find out the town that the craft fair is in. They will almost definitely have information on their website on how to participate, or at least the phone # to call for more info. If there's no website, go to or call the public library in that area or the village hall.

Even if you don't need a permit, there are usually rules about what you can sell and how. Plus you might need to fill out paperwork and pay for a table at the craft fair, so it's a good idea to contact the city ahead of time. Good luck!

You should also try selling them worldwide on ebay.
