Finding the resistance knowing only the voltage drop?

How do I find the resistance of a resistor? I know that the voltage sourve is 5 volts, and after passing through the resistor it becomes 2.872.

    Voltage doesn't "pass through" anything. A voltage is a measure of the potential difference between two points. Maybe you're misunderstanding something.
