I have a question about a rich preacher in my city?
Ok, I don't know why it's bothering me this much but there is this preacher in the city where I live, and he is super, super rich. He rides around in a $500,000 Maybach and he lives next to the actual church, in a house thats 5X as big with a gate and poll booth and everything, lake etc.
So my question is, how is he able to afford all of this with being a preacher, thats it. Also the church he is a member of is known to give so much money to it...people who can hardly pay their utilities...giving him money so he can live a great lifestyle.
I don't know, is he taking the money for his own use? Or what?
Thanks guys.
Well I don't think he has any side jobs, I know people who attend the church...and they get highly offended when you bring it up...
oh and also they call him "daddy".WOW
*God's Servant*
Just because I don't attend the church, doesn't mean I can't voice my opinion. I'm sorry I have my own mind and I can think for myself and not let other TELL me what is right or wrong.
Also, read your answers...you're basically supporting the act of using the money for you're own use, and also when people give money to a church it if to keep the church up, and to support other CHURCH RELATED things, so don't tell me to stay out of something I think is wrong.

Some of these guys set up their own independent churches (independent of regular baptist or other denominational headquarters). Once they do that, it's a business and they can take as much money as they want.
There's one of those in my city too. The owner of the church sounds like a used car salesman. Fullest load of crap I've ever heard. It's a "feel good" religion for people who need their consciences assuaged. Has little to do with the Bible.
There is truth out there. But it's not being preached by idle bourbon swilling priests or pastors who enjoy their high life more than they do living a godly life.

Don't judge without the facts. might of hit the lotto. inheritance, excellent investor. The Church members should be watching and voting on the budget. There should be mission statements, mission teams, separate finance team. The Pastors salary should be set and voted on in the budget. If the members are not being good stewards, well they should be. The Church budget should be obtainable take a look at it see where the money goes. He may be rich on his own and works for the Church for $1.00 a year. Where's the Church finacial statement they all have one. Post it. See if I would vote on it.

If persons are not allowed to talk brazenly approximately the matters which they understand to be unsuitable in our nation, how might we ever difference them? The angle that we Americans have by no means performed some thing unsuitable and that any individual who says now we have is a hater of America is some thing that's inflicting our nation plenty of damage. If you're keen on America, you'll desire to make matters greater. Sometimes that includes announcing matters that a few persons won't like.

There will be a judgment day for him and sounds like he is going to pay dearly. Those type of big mansions next to or close to their church are called compounds. This same thing happened to Tammy Faye and Jim Baker.Good question, thanks for asking.A star for you.God Bless.

James 5:1-6
1Now listen, you rich people, weep and wail because of the misery that is coming upon you. 2Your wealth has rotted, and moths have eaten your clothes. 3Your gold and silver are corroded. Their corrosion will testify against you and eat your flesh like fire. You have hoarded wealth in the last days. 4Look! The wages you failed to pay the workmen who mowed your fields are crying out against you. The cries of the harvesters have reached the ears of the Lord Almighty. 5You have lived on earth in luxury and self-indulgence. You have fattened yourselves in the day of slaughter.[a] 6You have condemned and murdered innocent men, who were not opposing you.

he gets a salary for doing a job.
its not anybody else's business what he makes.
the church voted to give him the money he gets
the church may own the property and lets the pastor live there.
it sounds like a very large church.
if a person does not belong to a church and does not give money to it then they do not have a say so in what goes on there.
people give money because they want to not because they are forced to. A another person does not have the right to tell others what they can and can not do with their money.

He sounds like a cultist to me. Maybe he is a prosperity gospel preacher (false gospel), like Joel Osteen and Creflo Dollar.
He probably sheers the wool of his sheep to keep himself warm.
But let me tell you, Jesus laid down His own life for His sheep. When just 1 out of the 99 sheep had lost its way, Jesus gave his everything to search for that 1 lost sheep.
Hope this answers the question. (:

People were highly offended when the Bakkers (both of them) were exposed for what they were -- charlatans that used religion to foster their own personal life-style. These people who were offended fully accepted the Bakkers saying that the investigation was all "of the devil."
Somebody hadn't bothered to read and comprehend the teachings in their Bible.

The best thing to do is check it out...
What's his name?
*Or what's the name of the church?
*Yeah, he could be writing books and doing things to earn his money...maybe he gets 10%, and the more people that give, the more he gets, and maybe he gives 10% (or more) back.
You should check out what kind of missionary/outreach they do.

And the moral to that story is?
Money to be made out of weak, insecure, confused and emotional people.
