Are we too smart to believe in god?

We should be, but people don't want to let go of their superstition. It's something that gives them comfort and a sense of superiority as if they know something everyone else doesn't.

Education and intellect sure does bring the truth!!

Sad you lack what it takes to see it!!

Acceptance of a supernatural claim tends to promote cooperative social relationships. This communication demonstrates a willingness to accept, without skepticism, the influence of the speaker in a way similar to a child's acceptance of the influence of a parent. By encouraging this kind of behavior where the most intense social relationships occur it facilitates the lack of skepticism and deters more open minded thinking.

They are christian, Muslim or the other religions depending where they were born simply because they were indoctrinated by their parents as very young children. They will go on to indoctrinate their own children and those will go on to indoctrinate their grandchildren!!

Atheists have the intellect to see through the conditioning and escape into the real world!!

Agnostics have the intellect to see through the conditioning but lack the courage to throw of the conditioning entirely.

Sadly Christians are still held firmly prisoner by the self perpetuating brainwashing!!

Oh absolutely. C.S. Lewis was incredibly intelligent and, even though I'm no longer Christian, I still highly respect his work. To dismiss an entire group of people as "unintelligent" based upon their religious preferences seems pretty intolerant to me. Add: Um, I don't know if you know too much about Peter Youngren, but he really isn't the best person to use to represent Christians. I live in the area he works in. The church he preaches in taught that anyone who didn't go to their particular church would go to hell. Also, when groups from that church went overseas, they wouldn't give aid until someone was willing to convert (I had to read/edit an article someone from the church wrote about missions). I don't know if any of their tactics have changed since. But as of the late 1990s, that was still happening.

It shows that the higher the education, the higher percentage of atheists.

More than 85% of American Scientists claim to not believe in god.

Just about all Nobel prize winners in sciences are atheists.

Most modern philosophers are atheists.

with that logic consider the tree of knowledge is what we inherited from eve actions.

it is what Heylel wanted to corrupt the perfect world Yahweh created.

So those that depend on knowledge are missing the true meaning.

Maybe you looked in the wrong place. your brain instead of your soul.

Yahweh gave us a soul

Yahweh communicates to us through the soul.

Yahweh provided, through the soul, love and strength continuously.

Yahweh had given us the living word that resides in us.

Soul is love

Soul is strength

Soul is pure

Soul is eternal.

Through experience I know this.

The Love fills us and keeps us from wanting

The Strength allows us to over come our human desires and face the situation life gives us.

The belief system we chose should guide us to stay connected with our souls.

I couldn't reason my way out of it. If there is no God, then we are just fish food. That seems like a waist of a really cool idea.LIFE! Love is about to take over the planet and there is nothing we can do about it. Love your neighbor.
