Yes and the one I remember the most vividly is that of a 5 yr old girl on the sandy beaches of the east coast. We tried to get her to go in the oceans with us --just a ft from shore but she was too frightened. After hrs of watching the other kids play and have a good time she finally on her own ventured to the waters edge and stepped in. And i stood in the shade tears streaming down behind the darkened sunglasses.A step of faith for a child who had been abused[foster child] was a sight to behold.

my friend changed my life...she doesn't even know how much she did. i lived in the room next to her during our freshman yr in college. i always knew we'd be friends but i never talked to her because i didn't talk to many people...i was extremely shy and a lot of ppl thought i was just stuck-up.

anyway, the next yr we lived near each other again. we became instant friends--we are like family. she helped me be free, to be who i am, not to care what other ppl think and not be so self-conscious. she helped me get over the fear of being true to myself...that's kinda life-changing.

I think its possible. But I think being there for them as a good friend is more important.

being a good listener. Thats more important that anything else.Sometimes people need to work things out themselves. But, knowing that there friends are there for them is a solid, helpful support
