Alimentum vs Nutramigen?
which do you prefer and why? why did you start using a hypo formula?
my son has not been tested for a milk allergy but since his reflux is in no way shape or form getting better he has now been put on alimentum but only will take the ready to feed. I must say it has helped his reflux. Hes also on meds for it.

I have only ever used Nutramigen, and that was 2 years ago with my daughter. She started having bloody stools around 2 weeks old and was immediately placed on Nutramigen. Unfortunately, the bloody stools continued ( Nutr. still has one of the two milk proteins) so my daughter had to be put on Neocate. At 6mo we tried Nutramigen again, and this time she tolerated it.
I see a lot of parents use Nutramigen because their child is fussy or whatnot, but I would only use hypoallergenic formulas if there was a real reason too (like allergies).
I also have only used Enfamil products. :-)

my son was put on alimentum for weight gain issues @ 4 months bc its also a high calorie formula. But it seemed to really work well with his tummy and being I couldnt BF anymore. Never had any problems with as much spitting up etc after using it.

Nutramigen I prefer because all other formula made my kids constipated severely and made them vomit it all up like the exorcist baby.I also like the Good start formula because it gentle on babies tummy's used it with my 2nd one and she only had minor constipation but then again I also breast fed her in the morning and at night.
