Why is it when a celebrity suddenly dies?

All of the nasty wee folk crawl out of the woodwork and start to pass around very sick jokes?? If they had any respect, they would let the family and friends of the lost soul, grieve, without such awful nonsense.. I am refferring to the sudden death of Steven Gately and the text "jokes" that I have since received.. How would some of these folk feel if they were sent such rubbish when they had lost their mum, dad, child, grandparents?? Thes eejits should be utterly ashamed of themselves. Any thoughts on this??

I totally agree with you. It is extremely insensitive and quite frankly dumb! A human being has died, I think people need to look into their hearts and think about what they are doing!!

all my friends know i love my jokes, we send each other dozens each week but ive always said i don't want any about children, disabled and people dying, ive received 7 of these "jokes" about steven gately in the past hour, ive just deleted them, the pain i felt when my dad died 12 year ago was horrendous, but if there was any jokes going around about him would of been too much to bear, i even received some "jokes" about little Madelaine McCain when she first went missing, how bad that was, there must be no pain in this world than losing a child. x

They are just plain stupid. I don't usually feel sad or upset when a celeb dies but i absolutely love Boyzone and in particular Steven Gately. I feel very sad that he has passed away and once again only the good die young and the rubbish survives.:(

I have no idea who Steven Gately is, but I can say yes, it's very disrespectful. It's just like with Michael Jackson. People still call him "Wacko Jacko" and make jokes like "Hey, did you hear K-Mart is celebrating Michael Jackson? Little boys pant half off!" It's very disrespectful. It's because some people have never heard of the word respect and choose to remain ignorant of the facts.

it rather is a unusual and wonderful feeling once you pay attention that a action picture star died. Like right this moment with Heath Ledger, all of us think of all of us be attentive to those people and then some thing like this occurs and it rather is like WOW....why did they try this?

I agree with you. They should be ashamed, but some people are just like that. We can't do anything about it.
