All my songs got deleted from Itunes!?

A few weeks ago I noticed a virus on my PC. I took it in and the tech wiped a large majority of my computer out. I went to open my Itunes and saw that all but a few songs were gone. (The "few" were songs that I got from a CD and eventually deleted a good two years ago.)

I haven't plugged in my Ipod, because I want to keep all my songs. Is there any way to get all of those back without paying over $600 to download them from Itunes?

Or does anyone know of a non-peer-to-peer place where I can download for free, and that has a low risk of viruses?

Thanks.

Update:

I went to my Music icon and the only thing there is the few old songs that I have and don't really want. It's in some weird format. Is this normal?

Hi, as long as your songs are still on your iPod, you can get them back to your computer and iTunes easily.

The most convenient and secure way is to use an iPod-to-computer transfer program to help you, like this handy one called Tansee iPod Transfer

    http://www.gutensoft.com/Utilities/Tansee-iPod-Tra...

Many of my friends are using it for its easy and safe transfer. The whole process goes as follows:

Firstly install this program on your computer. When you plug your iPod to the computer, this program will instantly display all songs and videos on the iPod.You simply select what you wish to transfer and click "Copy" button. Done. All your selected files will be copied to your computer safely. Now you can easily add those songs and videos to your iTunes library. See detailed guide.

More importantly, this won't overwrite any original files on your iPod. And all song names are preserved.

Here is step-by-step guide on the whole process:

    Best luck!

I had that issue with iTunes back when I had a HP computer. I called iTunes and they basically said no. Now that I have a mac, I can easily back up everything including pictures, videos and music. I am sure you can back up on any computer.

Anyway I don't know of any free sites, someone else will have to help you with that.

But when it comes to iTunes they won't give you credit for lost songs (which I think is crap) so you are at a lost there.

Always back up your computer. And save your purchased songs on a memory stick or something.

Try to go to the icon that says music and you should see the songs that you had. Then click and drag them to your file and then they should be their the same thing happend to me before.

Try checking the recycle bin. Sometimes the songs will also be in there. When u see the songs, spotlight all of them. After, proper click on the constituents u highlighted and u press repair. :D
