Tell me about your religion (or lack of) please?

You realize that the details of any belief system would fill volumes don't you?

I follow an individual spiritual path of my on making. My beliefs closely resemble Esoteric Christianity which is quite a bit different from the mainstream variety. I am a hermeticist and practice spiritual alchemy.

I believe that we are a mixture of spirit and matter and that it is our goal to bring spirit fully into matter. This is accomplished through a process of purification. There are various techniques to aid in this process such as meditation and service.

As part of my spiritual practice I help to facilitate sacred fire circles like the one at the link below.

Acceptance of a supernatural claim tends to promote cooperative social relationships. This communication demonstrates a willingness to accept, without skepticism, the influence of the speaker in a way similar to a child's acceptance of the influence of a parent. By encouraging this kind of behavior where the most intense social relationships occur it facilitates the lack of skepticism and deters more open minded thinking.

They are christian, Muslim or the other religions depending where they were born simply because they were indoctrinated by their parents as very young children. They will go on to indoctrinate their own children and those will go on to indoctrinate their grandchildren!!

Atheists have the intellect to see through the conditioning and escape into the real world!!

Agnostics have the intellect to see through the conditioning but lack the courage to throw of the conditioning entirely.

Sadly Christians are still held firmly prisoner by the self perpetuating brainwashing!!

Hahaha Eddie. It's true that many religious objects of worship are as arbitrary as good ol' Eddie's example. I would like to say that I believe in a God/Divine force/Supreme consciousness, but unlike most dogmatic religions I believe that we are all a part of that, that we are all divine. We are each of us connected with the divine fabric of life. We all have those powers. We create our own reality, we manifest whatever we think about. You watch, if you like dvds watch "down the rabbit hole" and there is lots of literature on the subject.

*** Addendum: Bows down to the poster below. Yes, yes, you have the intelligence where everyone else is sorely lacking. Actually, scientific evidence points to the existence of a collective consciousness, which they claim is housed as the zero point field. So you tell me, is blind dogmatism limited to religious views, can it not also be considered oppressive in cases of extreme atheism, as in the case of Soviet Russia, or your convenient example of how atheists are simply "more intelligent"? Hardly worth a thought, because the answer is so blatantly obvious. Any ideology has the potential to abuse it's own 'truth' power.

Satanism is based on atheism, the reality of nature including human nature and about morals and ethics and living life to the fullest
