In the Hebrew traditon you were considered an adault at 13 and you were probbaly dead by 45. As for the new testement- there is none stated.

Well my RE teacher once said Mary was about 12 or 13 when she was married to Joseph...
Remember; Old testament Christianity was Judaism.
Bat Mitzvah is at 12 for girls. Bar Mitzvah is 13 for boys.
This is when they can be considered adults.
I can't help you with the new testament though...

Romans 13 tells us to obey those in authority over us so you are correct; you observe the laws under which you live.
