not at all, kobe is a way better player and he would still have more rings!
Nick c- it's not premature for her to ask a question like that but your comment was very immature!

No because kobe has been able to do it four times and one of them was with a totally different team. LeBron James is good don't get me wrong, but he's a lot younger than Kobe and look how close the battle is right now on which player is better. Kobe in his prime would destroy LeBron and the current 30 year old Kobe usually does better than LeBron especially when they go head to head. LeBron has a long way to go to get in front of Kobe and along with this topic it should be known that they are two completely different players. LeBron is more of a young Kobe, a slasher, whereas Kobe is an overall complete player. Kobe does it all and LeBron still can't finish games becoming LeBrick when it matters most in the clutch and especially on free throws. I'll probably get negative comments saying he made that shot against orlando in the east finals but that was once, he has like two buzzer beaters in his whole career and if he made at least half of the free throws he missed against the magic they might've actually won a few more games if not the series...

Maybe, the whole championships you won doesn't matter so much, but how many championships did you win as the team leader. Kobe has only won one, so if Lebron wins 1 the score will be 1 to 1. And then it depends on mvps and stats which is still a big question mark.

Difficult question to answer. Kobe has 4 rings. He has been able to put the Lakers on his shoulders last season and get the job done. Lebron has yet to do the same. Granted, the talent around him has been less in past seasons but with Shaq in the middle things could change quickly in the East.
Of course the major factor that must be considered in the East is the Boston Celtics. They have reloaded and, at least on paper, have to be the odds on favorites to win the East.
All in all, a very interesting season coming up. For Lebron, it has to happen soon for him in Cleveland. If not I'm sure he will win a championship somewhere else.
Right now the say that Lebron is better than Kobe or viceversa is far too early. Let the two complete their careers, championships or not, and let the individual stats do the talking.

They just need the final key to the puzzle, which in my opinion is a new point guard. Eric Snow needs to go, they can keep everyone else, but Eric Snow isn't doing anything good. They need a well developed PG like for say, Kidd or Iverson (which will never happen), that could get lead the team, because Lebron cant do it alone.

Championships aside, if LeBron continues to AVERAGE 25pts, 7rebs, and 7asts, he will surpass Kobe and maybe even MJ. The kid is just a beast, and he still has room to get better. His defense and 3pt shot are ever-improving, and he is already one of the best playmakers to ever play the game. Kobe had better pad his resume with another Ring or two and hope LeBron can only win one or two for his career. Otherwise, LeBron may be considered the G.O.A.T. when he hangs 'em up for good.

Lol. Not a chance.
Kobe has 4 rings, probably about to have 5, and he alone isn't even close to Jordan.
If LeBron wins anywhere from 2 to 6 rings, than I MIGHT put him ahead of Kobe.

Nope. Not even close. James would just on his way and would just be taking a first step.
Kobe is the better player, and he has 4 rings to show for it.
LeBron winning just one and be considered the second greatest is a crime. No way will I put him ahead of Magic, Bird, Kobe, etc.

Championships are not individual accomplishments they are team accomplishments .
In fact is stupid to say that a player won the championship . The proper way to say it is that a team won the championship and the particular player was part of it . And i don't think rings should be used to compare 2 players .
Anyway .
To me James is better than Kobe . He is 24 years old and still has outscored Kobe . If James is better than Kobe now i believe that you can imagine how good he will be in the future .
James has 0 rings . Still tho . In my opinion he is all ready the second best basketball player of all times . Jordan is first .

Neither are greatest of all time next to Jordan.
LeBron getting one ring means he's still 4 short of Magic. 2 short of Bird (still the greatest SF ever). 3 short of Duncan.
Skill wise LeBron is amazing. No doubt. But with one ring, he doesn't just skip the players who've done a whole lot more in their careers.
Ranking players who's careers are far from over is premature.
EDIT:@brileighalissa... Yeah. I didn't say asking the question was premature (which doesn't make sense). I said ranking players careers who have a lot of years left is...
Penny Hardaway
Bill Walton
Tracy McGrady
Grant Hill
Jamal Mashburn
Larry Johnson... this is the just short list.
All were suppose to be the next great thing. They all put up amazing numbers early in their careers. Major injuries derailed their promising careers.... thus... ranking players as high as Michael Jordan while ignoring other greats that have played the game, accomplished more in their careers and changed the game, is in fact immature and premature, when the very same could happen to LeBron.
Thank you for singling me out for some reason. I appreciate your opinion.
Have a nice day.

I feel he has surpassed Kobe when it comes to playing the game, but he hasn't passed him when it comes to being a winner. LeBron needs to win more championships and show the world he is a champion. I know it is not LeBron's fault that he hasn't had great support from his team, but there are no excuses when you are trying to be the greatest of all time.
