They tell you not to drink because an excess of alcohol can thin your blood and make your bleeding heavier. If your bleeding is moderate or less and you stick to a few beers, you should be perfectly fine. Beer is mostly water with a small amount of alcohol, it shouldn't prove to be a problem but I would recommend no more than 3 or 4.

I had a mandatory abortion because the baby was not developing and I was 8 weeks pregnant. I had the abortion 3 days ago, im done with my antibiotics, and tomorrow night is my friends 21st birthday. I was wondering if I would be able to drink a few beers? no hard liquor or anything. Thanks

They say not until 3 weeks. They usually tell you to wait for your check up appointment. 8 weeks and you had a surgical abortion? I thought they did medical abortions that young. But yeah not for 3 weeks. Just like you shouldn't have sex.

Edit: For the person who says if you have stopped spotting. After an abortion you can spot for weeks. I spotted for over 50 days.

Of course you could call your doctor or health direct whatever help line but you are asking us and I think you deserve an answer WITHOUT judgement!!! I just had a d and c myself as I lost mine at 8 weeks. My doctor squeezed me in so I COULD have a drink 2 days later for my 40th birthday.

Have the damn drink girl and enjoy it. Just dont go over board you body is still recovering...but it wont kill you.
