Why does Limewire slow your computer down?

is it because of the possible viruses it may give your computer, or the amount of memory it takes up from downloads? Or something else?

And are there any ways to counter the problem and to stop limewire from slowing your computer?

Limewire is a program. All running processes use some amount of physical memory. In that sense, yes, Limewire slows down your computer while it is running. But then again, so does Notepad.

Basically what the others said, yes it does take up memory on RAM so if you want to spend around $20-$40 you can upgrade that. And definitely change the setting to not come on when windows turns on, and close Limewire when not in use.

However, there are other computer tweeks you can do to improve performance and this will help speed it up in everything you do.

You can defrag your drive, clean registry/temp folders, etc. list goes on. Instead of listing them all, here are two links that list everything you can do in order, you will definitely notice a performance increase.

Limewire folder takes up approximately 18 MB of area on your annoyingchronic. Will it sluggish your computing gadget down by utilizing taking over 18MB of area on your probable 60,000MB or bigger annoyingchronic (a million,024MB = 1Gig maximum laptops have 60Gig annoyingchronic or bigger) .. I doubt it heavily. Limewire of course is a Peer-2-Peer software. whilst that is P2P, human beings can alter documents which you're downloading to place although they desire in them, or rename a scourge to make you think of that's respectable. Run a solid antivirus and cling to the regulations.
