Will you take the H1N1 vaccine?

The more I read up on vaccines the more I find out about the disturbing chemicals in them. Also, read an article about a Washington Redskins Cheerleader who now has brain damage from taking the seasonal flu vaccine.. Thoughts?

I don't trust it. There hasn't been enough time to judge harmful affects of the vaccine, and considering the last swine flu vaccine in the 80's when those who got the vaccine were the ones who got sick and/or died.............

No. But not because I think it is dangerous. I just don't think I need this vaccine.

Every vaccine has potential side effects, but the incident rate is very low. I don't think it means much that one person out of 10000 has a bad reaction.

And you ask about taking the H1N1 vaccine, but refer to the cheerleader getting brain damage from the seasonal flu vaccine - two different things.

I think that may be a moot point.

I predict serious shortages of the Mexican Swine Flu vaccine. I expect it will be rationed to only the young, moderate elderly (the really old won't get it) and those with other health issues.

The rest of us will have to hope for the best.

Source(s): Still no vaccine in my area. They always say "Next week" but they really don't know when they are going to get it or how much they will get.

I'm not taking it as of now. I will wait and see how it goes. It hasn't been tested properly and too many doctors and nurses refuse to get the vaccine which should ring bells. Right now I do not see why I should take it. I'm living in Norway and only 6 people died of it here so far. Unless it gets really worst out here or that it is proved that nobody got sick due to the vaccine I might reconsider.

Yes...I work in healthcare and feel I have a responsibility to my patients to limit the potential to spread H1N1.

These people with "bad reactions" are the minority that take them. The mercury levels in the vaccines are significantly less now than during the last "swine flu" in the 70's, and have been tightly regulated since.

The H1N1 vaccine is made the same way as the seasonal flu vaccine, and tweaked to cover the genetic mutations as H1N1.

    No.

I have already gotten the seasonal flu vaccine. I am not in the high risk group for swine flu. I am healthy, no underlying conditions.

I figure - leave the vaccine for those who need it.

I'm afraid to have the seasonal flu vaccine, nevermind H1N1..

No...I use these new-fangled inventions called fruits and vegetables. When combined with my super-high-end sports and medicinal beverage--water--the vaccines seem useless.

Yes, I will. I work in a high risk population and have asthma.

The cheerleader is an outlier, not a norm.

I've never had a flu shot of any kind and never will.
