I want to move to Canada. What do I need to know?

I have been doing a lot of research over the past few years, of US politics and have decided that we as a nation are failing due to the lack of concern from each individual. We allow our Government elected officials to make laws that are beneficial to their selves and the large corporations.

The lobbyists that work for these corporations, control us and our government.

Therefore, I am thinking of leaving the United States and have found that the Canadian Government is actually concerned and work for the people that voted them into office.

So I was wondering what was involved. thank you

Update:

Yes the large corporations are in Canada too, however, they don't control the Parlament like they do in the US.

How else can you explain the high cost of medical care and prescription drugs, the high cost of insurance and the lack of coverage provided by those insurance companys. The way fuel costs bounce up and down on a daily basis. The lack of regulation from our Government has opened the door to legalized priced gouging which affects the lower and middle class to the point where they have make choices like, get meds. or gas money for job hunting or food. Hsould pay the electric bill and let the water get shut off or pay the electric so we don't freeze. Sure as the sun sets if you cant afford to pay they will cut you off and if you cant pay your house payment you will be out on the street. and the worst of it is that you could have been a reliable bill payer for 10, 20, or 30 years miss a couple payments and your done.

Update 2:

I went off on a tangent from my original question.

Sorry.

What I need to know is what type of income was needed to be comfortable? What does it cost for small homes and what expenses are involved for up keep? Job availability?

Thanks

I think the main thing is to locate which way is due North.... but calling the Canadian Embassy might help. Google it.

I thought of doing that back in the early '70s, but Canada was not far away enough, so I moved to Europe. As was pointed out, the big corporations are in Canada, too. Consider that.

Would you believe that McDonald's in Canada has a union. The pay is much better and they have benefits. Word of warning, you will need a passport now to get into Canada. You won't be able to stay like people from the U.S.A. used to. Now you have to account for your where-abouts at all times. This happened after 9/11. I don't think you will be able to move to Canada either.

Stay away from the Ziox Cult in Canada...they are dangerous. If you see them around, look for a man named Zap Rowsdower, he'll protect you.

You should know those same corporations operate in Canada, too.
