    It sure sounds like the coolant is leaking into the combustion section of the engine. If the engine oil is not milky then the coolant being pulled into the intake system of the engine and the engine is ingesting the coolant, with the fuel/air mixture and sending it out the exhaust. It could be a bad gasket or it could be a cracked intake manifold or cracked head. A mechanic can test and pressurize the cooling system and see if there is anything going into the combustion chambers. With a leak that big it should be easy to find by a good mechanic. If the engine oil is above normal and the color is whitish, then the coolant is going past the rings during the power cycle.

    there are a few possibilities;

    1: the radiator cap isnt holding pressure like it should, and the overflow tank is leaking. you might not see the leak though.

    2: you have a cracked valve seat that is allowing coolant into the combustion chamber. usually you will see a slightly higher than normal amount of white smoke out the exhaust when cold, but it goes away when warmed up.

    3: you have a bad head gasket. the engine wont always smoke these days because of the heat of the catalytic converter.

    4: you have a freeze plug that is leaking, but it might be in such a location that you cant see the leak, and by the time you check the coolant in the morning, all evidence of the leak is gone.

    there is a dye that you can put into the system, run the engine for a few minutes, and then using a black light you can track down the leak.

    bypass to yet another mechanic. replace the radiator cap. while it is going undesirable it won't enable water/coolant back in the engine. so each time the coolant is going interior the reservoir it truly is in simple terms no longer enable back to the radiator as a effect leaving the radiator short little via little till the motor vehicle has too low and overheats. in case you prefer to confirm the place the coolant is going upload purely somewhat of UV dye in the radiator(at he cooling isle or next to the A/C rack), after a positivepersistent pop the hood open as quickly as the sunlight hits that engine bay the leak would be seen as a neon green shade stain anyplace the coolant leaked. there's a small UV lamp this is offered for A/C gadget exams. that one you will possibly use below the chassis in case you do no longer see any sign of a leak from the precise. gl btw ascertain the motor vehicle would not overheats.

    My Malibu had this problem too. I couldn't see a leak, but the coolant would need to be refilled twice a week.

    I went to Wal-Mart and got a Coolant Leak Stop for something like $6. Let me tell you, it worked wonders. The first few days I didn't think it was working, but then suddenly my coolant problems were no more.

    I recommended it to a friend who had the same problem, and it worked for him too.

    i deal with the exact same on my lumina-could be a bad gasket-whether it be head or intake,mine doesnt overheat or smoke and it uses water everyday,mine is the catalatyic converter making the smell,i honestly dont know where mine is going,motor is strong-going for a simple pressure check to see if head gaskets are bad,its around 30 at any garage.ive had crap cars and have nursed bad heads thru winters before,just always do ur antifreeze faithfully,and get a pressure check,even if its gaskets,its a big job,but not as big as heads..find a catlatyic converter at junkyard quickly,u need it

    Quick answer : bad freeze plug or if you're smelling it , that would be the heater core. Drive til it's up to operating temp and check under the motor for a leak, thorough check, then check passenger side carpet for moisture. Heater core is a lot easier to repair. Good luck .

    Definitely a Blown Head Gaskets. you should give immediate attention to it before it causes a bigger damage to your engine. Hope this helps!

    check under the dash see if its leaking from the heater box. if it is leaking the carpet should be wet and it will likely be wetter on the back seat floor

    Blown head gasket.

    Better take the oil cap off and see if there is any white foam and check the oil as well.
