I only think this is possible if Valentino feels miserable during 2010 and I´m positive Masao Furosawa and team will do everything to prevent this fall. It won´t be easy since he offered Lorenzo equal terms, and he brought Ben Spies a year earlier than expected, but he has the whole 2010 season to charm Valentino and convince him to retire as a Yamaha rider.

So perhaps Furosawa san will have to let go Lorenzo, or forget about Spies or give Valentino a much deserved number one rider status. He certainly does not want to be the one who let Rossi go elsewhere. To accomplish this he also needs a little push by their sponsors.

edit.- Great links by the gorgeous racer. I was not aware what the Italian press has been saying. (Not that it´s the necessarily the truth, though) Perhaps that´s the reason for Yamaha to pursuit both Lorenzo and Spies. We´ll see....

I agree with Ciccio's answer, But would like to add, would Yamaha like to think they threw (Lorenzo / Spies) away, after Rossi's day. which isnt too far away. Im sure they JB & VR are thinking about it, even if they are not admitting to it. there is a long winter to spark a few rumours. the races up to Brno next season should prove interesting. if thats Yamaha's cut off date for contract signing.

it could be... so sad but if that what he want, we have to trade in our yamaha to ducati's next year,

VR seems like to ride every power machine. he want to show to us every bike is the same, only the rider shouldn't be remain. he ride honda, and he won, then he goes to yamaha, also he won.

this season ducati not really gave challenge to him, so might be next season Rossi want to prove to stoner he can be champion too, even he ride ducati.
