I use peppermint soap. Dr bonners or dr woods. You can clean veggies with it too or fruit. Check it out. I use this for everything including showers, baths or washing my hair. I have washed my cats with it and some delicate cloths. You can buy this stuff in a health food store or some beauty supply stores.

I personally clean with vinegar, too have children and want to use environmental friendly cleaning, if you have harsh spots that will not come clean you can use a dab of baking soda on the area and scrub til the spot comes clean. You can get many other ideas for chemical free cleaning and other homemade cleaning products from this website www.tipnut.com

I add about 4 tablespoons of rubbing alcohol to my vinegar. Its still safe and non toxic however it gives better cleaning power

I would say keep using what you are but if it is not working, the only other way is dish soap. most dish soaps are non-toxic and clean really well.
