What was Barney Rubble's Job on the Flintstones?

Fred worked for Mr. Slate at Slate Rock and Gravel, but I never noticed where Barney worked. He spent allot of time hanging with Fred in the Gravel pit talking but what was Barney's actual job (Where and what did he do?)

While he did work at another rock quarry on an episode, he did spend some time with Fred at Mr. Slates Gravel Pit. He also did some work as a bell hop and a travel agent. But I would have to say he was an office worker for Mr. Slate for much of the series. He must have held several other jobs too.

i think he just assisted wherever he could but they never gave him an official position, he was probably one of those characters that was a situational piece, he could be moved around and put in any job for comedic purposes. I'm not sure though

His usual occupation was as an office clerk.

In one episode he was a dinosaur dentist.
