Can a PS3 play Final Fantasy X international?

I've heard the PS3 is region free, so that makes me wonder if the PS3 can play the internation version of FFX (which is a PS2 game).

Is it possible?

    no. it cannot play a ps2 or ps1 region coded games and dvd movies. only ps3 games are not region coded.
