At what age did you stop feeding your baby jarred food?
My son is almost eight months and is doing really well with his finger foods. I still give him jarred food occasionally. If I make dinner for my family I would love it if he can eat with us and if I make something he can't gum then I can blend it. My concern is when I cook I use your typical spices would that be OK now or should I wait a little longer.

You may want to provide some finger foods that are not spiced up, I fed my children the baby food along with introducing them to family food slowly, then they graduated to the junior baby food and by the time they were 14 months old they were eating mostly regular food with supplements of baby food when necessary.

I would be careful about the spicy spices, but my son has loved anything with garlic since I gave him lasagna at 7 months old. Every baby is different and the only thing I would really worry about is the allergy aspect. Keep a record of what he's tried so far, that way you know when he has something that might have caused a reaction. Other than that, all you really have to worry about is the occasional disgusting diaper, in which case, don't feed him that again for a while. :-)

My daughter began refusing jarred foods at about 8 1/2 months. She likes to feed herself. She's been eating table foods ever since. The only modification I make for her is to cut the food into pieces she can handle. Just don't add salt when you're cooking.

we stopped right around 9 1/2 months. They were convienent to use and he never turned them down but there was no sense to keep paying $1 a jar when he could finally have what we were having. As for spices, you can most certainly use them (but don't go overboard with say garlic or chili powder lol).

We dropped jar food at 8 months. My daughter didn't like it and had no problems getting enough food in her mouth through her own power.
Maybe your baby will like the spices. If you raise your kid to think food having flavor is normal you won't end up with a 3 year old who screams pizza sauce is too spicy.

The only thing with baby food is its full of nutrients our food isn't but if your pediatrician says he's ready it should be fine just make sure he stay really hydrated since our food is more dry :)

i think it would be okay if you introduce them slowly, just like you did with the baby food.
talk with ur ped to be sure, but, i'm pretty sure thats fine.
