It's the marriage license. Why do you need a sample? It has basic stuff on there, like the time/location of the ceremony, a place for witnesses to sign, a place for the bridge and groom to sign, and a place for the officiant to sign. It's not anything major.

The pastor cannot give the couple a marriage certificate, that comes from the city or county. The license has to be filed before the couple can get the certificate.

nova has it top - it relatively is going to matter on your state. the certainly "license" would desire to be utilized for and signed in the previous your wedding ceremony. some states have a waiting era, or you are able to in basic terms %. them up on Tuesdays, and different specific rules. some states then require you, your officiant, and a few witnesses to sign the license returned to instruct that the ceremony happened. different states in basic terms want the officiant to sign after the ceremony, no longer the couple. terrific thank you to ascertain - call the courthouse interior the section the place you would be getting married, or verify your state government's website.

You get a marriage license at the courthouse. You take it to the officiant who will perform the ceremony. He/she will sign it and many states require the signatures of two witnesses as well. The bride and groom sign it and it's returned to the courthouse to record. After that it's mailed back to the bride and groom at the address provided.
