What is the Max overall range of the M-14 Not the Max effective range?

You and Jerry should look them both up on Wikipedia. They are totally different rifles M14 shooting a .308 cartridge (7.62 mm) and the M16 a 5.56 mm. The M14 replaced the M1 Garand and the BAR. The M16 replaced the M14. Good luck.

Sorry, Jerry. The M-14 fires 7.62 rounds. No way it's anywhere close to an AR-15. Maybe you're thinking of a M-4 carbine.

M-14 and M-16 are the built from he same AR-15 platform so the range is the same. The modifications were made so the rifle was more useful in tactical combat situations. Former AF Security Police with son in the Marines.

I have taken over 30 deer with my 243 with 100 grain bullets. My biggest buck a 130 class deer was at 300 yards. If they are standing and you have a steady rest and you place your bullet properly 300 is do able. But much more and your pushing your luck on deer sized game. Practice a lot with it, that will help lots.

I dont know the answer, but I can assure you it is much, much further than you can see.
