Atheists, & those who don't believe Jesus is God, Question about afterlife?

Lets say this is what really would happen:

You died and judgment day came. You were ushered in front of God and He said, " Others believed on me without seeing me, but you have rejected me without seeing me.I'm going to give you a second chance. Do you believe in Me now?"

Do you think you would still deny Him or would you receive Him, if this really did happen when you died?

Lay your beliefs aside, and just say for the sake of the question this did happen. What do you think you would do?

Since atheists don't believe in God the same could be asked for a Christian or any one else that believes in an afterlife. How could we know there is an afterlife and how do we know where we go after death if there is one. I know that is a logical question but I would like comments to the ones I stated about please.

Update:

Not sure why I am getting so many rude comments, I was just asking a question to see where non believers stand to better understand. I don't see why someone has to have evidence in front of them to believe in something. I'm not trying to be ignorant or rude, just trying to see other people's points of views.

Well this is kind of a stupid question. If i was brought before a god after i died, would I believe in him? How could I not?

apparently you had a Godly awaken call. Thank God you're properly. bypass to a private place and think of of all of the advantages you have. permit's commence alongside with your wellbeing. Your coronary heart, it would not run on batteries, gasoline or something, it in basic terms beats continuously. in case you reside to 80 3, God has given you 3 billion heartbeats. that's impressive how the human physique runs. That brings us to the subsequent question, how did we get here? What i like approximately evolution is the scientists are continually large tuning their theories. The bible would not. that's what that's! genuine now, think of of all th advantages you have, attempt to count huge style them, don't be a ingrate. Then when you have counted all of them, ask who gave all of them to you? Be properly!

Believe exists and worship are two different things.

Sure, at that point I would believe he existed, but no I wouldn't worship him, on moral grounds.

One of the main reasons I am not a Christian is because I find the Christian god to be malevolent.

Edit: Because you are posting on an internet forum, you will get flamed it is a fact of life. Also,I suspect you don't realize but your question does come off a bit condescending.

  • I am having trouble contemplating an omnibenevolent deity who would be more interested in why I didn't worship Him than in how I helped my fellow sentient beings.

But to answer your question, yes if I died and saw God with my own eyes then I would believe that God exists.

If He turned out to be the violent, vengeful and jealous deity depicted in the Old Testament who commanded that rape victims be stoned to death, then I would still not worship Him.

I don't think it is fair that even if 'he' reveals himself, that we would be condemned for not becoming a follower.

In your books, 'he' gave us free will, but where is the free will if in the end we are only given one choice?

There is no question, i would not change my beliefs, god serves no purpose in my life. I have dealt with deaths, breakdowns, major struggles all without him, and i don't see how accepting him on my deathbed will improve my life, because i will be leaving my life anyway.

If that happened, I would certainly believe in his existence as the proof is right there in front of me. However, I would not get on my knees and bow, I would not follow him until I am satisfied that the many immoral things he has supposedly done are not true. And even then, I am still my own person.

Well, as now there would be evidence that god exists, I would no longer be an atheist.

Would you be willing to receive Him if you found out He was really Zeus, or Thor when you died?

I'll answer that if you tell me what you'd do if you found yourself in the hall of Ma'at waiting to have your heart weighed against a feather.

Fair is fair. Why should we be the only ones answering hypothetical questions about gods?

As soon as I saw him then I would no longer be an atheist.

I would still be concerned if he was as described in the Bible, as that God is very immoral at best.

But belief would no longer be an issue.

Of course I would acknowledge god if I was in his presence! Don't theists understand we need proof? How illogical is it to believe in unicorns just because you saw them in a movie like Shrek?
