It is highly illegal for your employer to terminate you because you are pregnant. It's outlined in your state's labor laws so if you have any question simple google the labor laws for your state.

It's customary to wait until 12 weeks to spread the news of your pregnancy because after 12 weeks there is a much lower chance of miscarriage.

    Good luck and congrats!!

Legally they r not allowed to sack u on the provisions that u r pregnant, althought they can do what my boss did and say that there isn't enough work around and cut down ur hours until u have none. It suxs i had only been at the job for a few months when i found out i'm pregnant .... i stopped work at 20 weeks..... i am now 38 weeks. But hopefully u have a nice boss lol. I wouldn't tell them untill ur atleast 16 - 20 weeks unless u have to

Legally, they cannot fire you or even ask if it is true. You might not qualify for maternity benefits under their health insurance, though. (I had to work at my place of employment for 6 months before the maternity insurance kicked in.) You need to wait until you've been to the doctor and are 12 weeks for sure to tell them - there's no use getting all worked up about it before the danger of miscarraige has passed. Personally, I would wait until 4 months or so to tell them (be sure to tell them before you start showing!) that way you can show them that you're a good employee before you spring the news on them. You can report it to your boss and/or to the HR department.

Wait for at least 3 months..after that they cant fire you for anything and if they do you are able to fight them on it and take it to the labour board. You wont show until 4-5 months anyway so you will be safe.

    Good luck and congrats!

No, they can not fire you for being pregnant. You should tell them after your first trimester. That's when you know for sure that you & baby are truely in the safe zone and holding on to your pregancy. That's when I start to telling everyone.

You don't have to tell them right away. You can wait until you are about 3 months. They can't fire you, that is discrimination.

Check your state laws (the federal ones too). It is illegal for them to fire you because you are pregnant and if they do, you can sue them. Tell them whenever because you are covered by the law.

Are you on a probation period. Here, most jobs have a 3 months probabtion period, in which time, you can leave or they can fire you, without having reason

You're not obligated to say anything. It is illegal for them to fire you for being pregnant.
