I am working right now before I got off to the ARMY active duty. I don't leave tell FEB 2010. I a afraid to tell my work because they will firer me as soon as I tell them. What they will do is get someone in here quick and then they will give me the boot. Can they do this. If I tell them can they give me the boot? I have been told they can not do that. I have to tell them because on Thursday's I have to be at the rec station to do things. I been told I have to be at them or I will get in a lot of trouble. Thanks
Lot's of hate this morning. LOL. Well thanks for all the help. Have a good one.

Tell your work that you have to be at that receiving station. I don't think you need to tell them more than this. Just tell them you are just looking into military reserve opportunities.
If they fire you for joining they would sure hurt their reputation and i'm sure the army would have alot to say about it too.

An employer can not fire you because you are joining the military. They have to accept it and release you on common grounds.
justg.. In his post he has 1 word misspelled by the way. ". . .because they will firer me as soon. . ." So before you start saying "enlisted military", please go and actually look at the post. And as far as the title to the question "Going to boot camp in FEB 2010 need help?", Yahoo answers automatically puts a "?" at the end of the QUESTIONS. Get the hell off of your high horse.

Army enlisted alright...half your words are misspelled.
Also, your question would not be "Going to boot camp in FEB 2010 need help?"
That makes no sense. We suppose to answer if you need help, how should we know if you need help?
Your question should be: "Can an employer fire me early for joining the Army?"
Edit: Billy, clown. He misspelled "go", "until", "am", "fire". Not to mention several grammatical and punctuational errors. Including redundancies.
Also, Billy, clown. He said boot camp, officers do not go to boot camp. They go OCS.

read your contract numbnutz, they cant fire you. when you tell your work, they will take it as a military service notice,a dn should you for some reason get discharged within 2 years your job will still be available to you. they cant fire you. its a federal law, let alone the media will have a field day with it...
