Do all atheists believe in evolution?

Just curious. I know all Christians don't believe in Creationism, but do all Atheists believe in evolution?

Update:

Muddy, did I mention that atheism was a religion? No.

I for one am not sold on the idea, though it has nothing to do with my beliefs.

It sounds very plausible, and the evidence is persuasive,

    But it remains a theory.

Yes they do. It's only a tiny percentage of the completely and utterly deluded that think the world is only 6 thousand years old and a giant invisible sky fairy magicked everything into existence.

Apart from the fact the ice core records go back many tens of thousands of years is a testament to just how utterly ridiculous they are.

No earth, no snow fall, no ice core. Ice core's are made of layers of snow like tree rings that can be counted. They can tell the difference between summer and winter precipitation, what the atmosphere was like. What pollutants, what sort of plants from the pollen content, etc. A great deal of information is locked away and preserved.

OK you need to understand...Atheism is NOT a religion...there are no rules or anything set in stone... it only means they don't believe in any supernatural beings, gods whatever you want to call them... It's not a belief system!!

Edit: The point I was trying to get across is it's not a system of belief... You can say "all Christians believe in Jesus" the only thing you can say about atheism is we don't believe in GODS... after that every individual is their own person...their own beliefs..

An atheist is a person that rejects the claims that gods exist. That's all. Everything else is up to the individual.

Most of us believe in the facts that support evolution.

I don't "believe" in anything. I am presented by empirical evidence, and am convinced, to a certain extent, of the validity of certain theories. Keeping, of course, an open mind in light of surfacing evidence and opposing theories.

  • No, many atheists completely reject the idea of evolution.

As stated above - atheism is defined by a singular lack of belief in a "god". It is not an organized group and has no dogma, canon, scripture or clergy.
