Toilet help please please!?

While cleaning the bowl, I found a terribly dirty area around the rim of the bowl. It's where the water runs into the bowl. I have tried the commercial gel cleaning agents, and have scrubbed with a cleanser/bleach solution. All to no avail, any ideas on how to get this area clean again?

If it's kind of a scaly brown, try CLR or some similar rust/hard water remover.

You need to get a toilet bowl cleaner that has muratic acid in it. These can be hard to find, but there is a brand called "The Works" toilet bowl cleaner and you can buy it for a dollar at Dollar Tree stores. The stuff works great. I had the same problem, the gunk under the rim of my toilet was black. Put on rubber or latex gloves and use a sponge to apply the cleaner under the rim. Let it set for 10-15 minutes and then put on another glove and use a scrubber sponge to scrub under the rim and the black stuff will come off.

I had the same problem. I don't know what cleanser to use, but I put on some disposable gloves and scrubbed it with an old toothbrush (which I threw in the garbage after that, obviously.)

I like the cleaning agents the other people suggested here. just thought I'd tell you about the "tools" I used in case that helps you.

    good luck!

use a pomez rock, they get rid of anything.

You can also try a metal butter knife, we went to clean the house for my grandma who can't see so you can guess how her toilet looked, i tried everything even the pomez rock but at the end we had to scrub it off with the butter knife and it left it very clean, fortunately toilets are made of fantastically good material so it wont scratch.

    hope this helps.
