Whats your opinion on the H1N1 vaccine?
My husband and I are trying to decide what the best thing would be for our children. If we should give them the vaccine or not. Their pediatrician is for it, my doctor is against it. Its really hard when you have two great doctors with different opinions. I want them to be safe but I worry about side effects on the vaccine, but I want to protect them as well. All in all its our decision just wanted to hear others opinions on the topic.

It is a hard decision. I was initially against getting the vaccine for our daughter (7) and started to rethink if that was a wise choice. Same situation in that the pediatrician wanted to vaccinate and my doctor said he would not risk it and will not give it to his 5 children. I knew the flu mist was out of the question which was all that was available in our area. Well my daughter came down with all the symptoms last Friday and was much better by today. I think if your children are basically healthy with no underlying health issues such as asthma etc. I would not risk giving them the vaccine. Any possible adverse effects from the vaccine are not going to show up right away and at least in our case the flu was not the horrible monster illness that has been portrayed in the media. Hope this helps some. Good luck with your decision.

Well, your Pediatrician has the specialty for a reason.
I would look at their credentials and see who has practiced longer, who has been to more seminars to learn updates in Medicine, who went to the better Medical School.
My Mother has highly recommended that I get the vaccine, to the point of pinning me down and giving me the shot herself.
Good Luck. You have a hard choice in front of you.
(Mercola is run by a non-practicing Doctor who doesn't post where he got his Medical Degree from. I wouldn't trust anything on that website.)

I certainly will not be getting it. Not enough information has been provided about this vaccine, like short term and long term effects. I recall seeing an article on Facebook mentioning neurological effects and a second one talking about how the vaccine is worse than the flu itself. Its your decision only to make, no one else should make this for you and don't be influenced by what I or anyone else have to say about it. I am the kind of person who questions these kind of things. To me, something about it just does not sound right.

I'm 24 weeks pregnant and I just got mine on FRI. Our 5 year old will be getting it whenever it becomes available in our area. I did a lot of research and for us the benefits outweigh the risks. I think you are better safe than sorry ...... good luck with your decision and I hope you all stay healthy.

if the only places you get your information is from your doctors you are not getting all the truth . Go to swineflu.mercola.com to get other info on what is going on in our government about the swine flu . I think it will help you to make up your mind on the shot

1,000 KIDS HAVE DIED!!!! WHY WOULDN'T YOU!??!!!!!!!!!
THE CDC, DEPTS OF PUBLIC HEALTH HAS ENCOURAGED IT!!!!
And, excuse me, WHAT SIDE AFFECTS OF THE VACCINE HAVE YOU HEARD ABOUT?????????? Thousands of kids have been vaccinated already and I haven't heard of a SINGLE CASE of side affects from the vaccine!!!
The seasonal flu vaccine and the swine flu vaccine are both created depending on the needs that year. The swine flu vaccine isn't created any differently than the other vaccine!!!!
