What's wrong with Vista?
Ok. Everybody bags Vista and the 32 bit version is so riddled with problems I agree, However the 64 bit version of Ultimate runs extremely well.I've never had a problem with it running old apps or even Dos games using the compatibility feature. The only BSOD (x4) I ever got was because I got carried away with a few too many beers and oc'd a little too much (3 x 1gb mem cards=toast, onboard sound chip=toast) you get the idea,Fixed the hardware and Vista went on its merry way and has done so for(cross my fingers)6 months now.Oh yea I also dual boot with Ubuntu x64.Your thoughts or ramblings will be heard ;).
From these early responses I'm getting that it's not the os but but the fool behind the wheel (I D 10 T error), I love it please keep them coming.

Many people have had problems with support for their devices (e.g. old printers). Vista uses a lot more system resources than XP, so many people upgrading found that their system were slow; in addition, many computers were sold that only meet the minimum requirements, and they were often unable to run much of anything for the same reason. A lot of people didn't want to change the user interface; it's different than XP, therefore its bad.
From a support standpoint, Microsoft moved files around and made it harder to get to important areas. I suppose that this is supposed to make it more secure, but the bad guys are not going to be slowed down by these tricks; it mainly makes it harder for knowledgeable users to accomplish tasks. At least that is my opinion of it.
Many people switched to Vista and loved it. In my line of work I deal with a lot of different systems, so switching isn't a big deal. But think about it - who makes a lot of noise about a product: those who like it, or those who have problems with it?

i do unlike Vista for various motives. My laptop has XP professional (1gig of RAM and four years old) and my spouse's (a million.5gigs and purely over a year old) is Vista abode elementary, in case you restart the two desktops on the comparable time, mines up with Firefox and all my 50+ tabs loaded earlier hers gets previous the loading exhibit. all the crap that Vista comes pre-loaded with like Aero and abode windows Defender. Its a memory hog, and that i understand, all new OS's have larger memory standards than the previous one however the bounce from XP to Vista is extensive. to no longer point out we are rather on the component to the decrease that 32 bit OS's place on memory maximums with little or no interior the way of help for sixty 4 bit OS's coming down the pipeline any time quickly. different than that, i assume Vista is okayish, all the motive force subject concerns look taken care of now, SP1 is on its way out to the prevalent public. yet yet, M$ is already making plans on dumping Vista for abode windows 7 via as early as next year.

I think Vista is fairly stable especially the 64 bit version. I think the main reason people has issues with Vista is because their computers cant handle that OS, its to much of a recourse hog for people running less then 2 gigs of ram. I know someone running it on 512mbs for the life of me I cant understand why it was installed on the machine in the first place but it runs like crap.
Another reason people don't like it is because of that security thing (don't remember what its called) but the thing that makes you confirm what your doing like changing settings or installing programs. I know its a security tool but its a big pain in the rear, BUT you can just turn it off and most people don't know that, and once it is off people don't complain as much about Vista

I have used 32 bit Vista since day one and found no problems whatsoever.
Windows 7 is same to me....just a quirk or two different but looks and feels same to me.
So, to answer your question,. There is nothing wrong with Vista.
PS I started with 3 gb mem but added 1 gb a year later.
