Are baths to be given to cats after giving the Program/Capstar flea pill?

I am going to start my three cats on the Program/Capstar flea control program. The directions don't state this, but am I supposed to give my cats a bath with flea shampoo the day after administering the Capstar pill? That pill works for only 24 hours and I would assume that to remove the dead fleas from my cats, I'm supposed to give them a bath with flea shampoo. Does anybody out there have experience with this? Thank you!

Update:

The Program is a pill that lasts for a month. I don't know if it would take the place of Advantage or Frontline. I have used that stuff that you put on the back of the neck, but I do think it was Hartz and you are correct - it didn't work. I was planning on ordering Frontline. The Capstar pill works in killing fleas for only 24 hours. I do know that because I've already given my cats a dose of that pill.

Update 2:

By the way, I neglected to mention that I am already cleaning/vacuuming the house every other day. I'm using Borax on the carpets & rugs and also washing clothes, sheets, and tumbling pillows on the high setting in the dryer in case the fleas are in the pillows. I do know that I have to treat house & cats simultaneously.

Update 3:

My cats are indoor only. They never go outside.

Capstar is great for a temporary solution however you must apply a monthly prevention in order to provide good flea protection.

DO NOT BUY A GENERIC FLEA MED - Like Hartz or Adams - They are worthless and are a waste of money.

Frontline Plus, Advantage or Advantix work really well.

    Revolution works wonderfully as well.

There is a new pill out that is much alike to capstar except its call COMFORTIS - It lasts pretty long (Ive seen it work up to 3 months)

You need to vaccum your house really well after you have administered prevention mentioned above - empty it OUTSIDE - do not steam clean your rugs as it will hatch flea eggs.

NO don't do that. You don't need a flea shampoo because the capstar will kill the fleas the shampoo won't prevent them from coming back anyway. If you want to bathe them (you don't have to) use plain Dawn dish washing liquid(the blue kind). You need to get Revolution from the vet. The capstar will kill the fleas and the Revolution will keep them from getting them again. Revolution is drops that go on the back of the neck and you apply it once a month. It also helps them from getting ticks, worms and other parasites. There are others out there but I like Revolution the best. Go to your vet and get Revolution, don't bathe in Flea shampoo. If you do bathe them with the dawn wait 24 after the bath before you apply the Revolution.

Program doesn't kill or repel fleas at all. It only causes them to lay sterile eggs to prevent future fleas. Not the best option as if cat already has fleas, there are fleas in the home & must be treated also. You can bathe if you want but isn't necessary with Capstar. dead fleas will simply fall off & you can help by brushing. Any shampoo is kill/drown fleas - most flea shampoos can't be used on cats.

Please don't give your cat a flea shampoo. Many of the products are potentially toxic, and as a general rule, cats do not need baths and hate them anyhow. Capstar is a quick short term solution. You may also want to start using Advantage. You also need to rid your house of fleas and eggs or they will keep coming back. Bedding and rugs need to be cleaned well. Lastly, keep your cat indoors and will have little chance of getting more.
