What does a goat see in a butcher's knife? God or Death?

Destiny, fear and death.

Hinduism says animals do have soul. This is because we believe in Karma and rebirth. Even plants have soul (Padapanam Chaitanyam, Plants have Chetana or consciousness).

The secret of sane butchering is not letting the animal know what you're up to until the fatal blow is struck.

My experience has been that if an animal knows what you're up to with a knife, they are in terror of pain and death and there will be a lot of trouble. Goats thinking of God, not so much.

The goat does not see the knife. She only senses imminent death.

She sees only Death. We would do the same if we were the goat.

Killing is cruel. If it is done by Theists or Atheist, it is not humane. Religious friends should stop killing by thinking that it is a sin. Atheist friends should stop killing by logical thinking that pain is applicable to every living being with flush and blood and having a brain.
