How do you install Win7 64bit from WinXP 32bit?
I downloaded Win7 64bit from DigitalRiver, I have a 32bit version of WinXP. The install file is an exe file, which is 64 bit, and gives the error "This is not a vaild Win32 application"
I can't make an ISO because its an exe file... and DigitalRiver doesnt have a ISO download option.

Windows 7 install is more than a single file, you need the complete ISO. And, as the O/S tells you cannot run 64 bit software in a 32 bit environment. You need to boot the windows 7 installation disk so it can run.

in case you place the disc in, restart your pc, flow into the bios menu, which you oftentimes get admission to by using pressing delete while your pc starts up, substitute the boot settings so as that it boots from the cd force, then press f10 to keep and go out. Your pc will restart, and with a bit of luck domicile windows will installation.

You are not allowed to upgrade from XP to Windows 7. There is no direct upgrade route. You have to do a complete wipe and reinstall.
You can thank MS for being idiots when it comes to crap like this.
