I look remarkably like my mother. So on a lark as a thirteen year old, I went trick-or-treating dressed as my mother (in a hand painted Thai silk dress well known in our town of two hundred). Everyone got a huge laugh from it. Note this was back in 1973. The photos still get laughs. She and my aunt helped me with the makeup and "falsies," and it was a hoot! The resemblence was even more uncanny.

I seriously doubt that any children old enough would be "turned" by such a stunt, dressing up in costume is part of Hallowe'en fun, part of being someone you are not for an evening.

i dont see any harm in it. kids certainly understand that halloween is just a fun dress up day. now if it was an ordinary day (not halloween)
