Are there any charismatic, evangelical type churches that do not get political from the pulpit?

In my youth I used to visit lots of churches and the charismatic ones didn't seem to have a conservative political agenda. In fact politics was not mentioned at all, as i can recall.

Are there any denominations who still have that style of worship but avoid politics. I can't take that socially conservative line coming from the pulpit. If it were a socially liberal agenda, that might do, but I really would like to visit churches, when I'm not in the pulpit myself that are charismatic and neutral.

Thanks in Advance

I like your question. My husbands church is evangelical, and they avoid politics except for 2 things-they are pro life, and the pastor supported Obama. Other than that, their focus is on serving the poor and supporting a jail ministry.

All I can tell you is that God is neither republican or democrat. There are plenty of churches that don't bring politics into the church, however, when an issue comes up that is completely unbiblical, what is wrong with a pastor mentioning it. We are responsible for what we vote for outside the church, because as a Christian we cannot separate the holy from the secular.

all of us has the ultimate to an opinion on politics. The catholic church has constantly instructed their parishioners abortion and homosexuality is a sin. they typically do no longer come appropriate out and tell them who to no longer vote. whilst any church preaches hate speech they could desire to lose their tax exempt status, like whilst they say hateful issues at our wounded hero's funerals or burn the holy books of yet another denomination, or in the event that they tell them to kill the infidels.

That is the problem. Churches need to become more political, that is why we are loosing the battle when it comes to homosexual agendas, Islam, taxes, God out of schools and public places.

  • I know right? My church does that and I loathe it to the core of my being. It doesn't help that my Pastor is an Ex Congressman either..
