Did Newt Gingrich really say this?

This sounds like him but I can't find if he really said it.

"As an American I am not so shocked that Obama was given the Nobel Peace Prize without any accomplishments to his name, but that America gave him the White House based on the same credentials." - - Newt Gingrich

The grammar and diction are correct for his pattern of speech. There are two Radio Hosts with whom he has, in the past, felt comfortable enough to have said that on their programs; Neal Boortz & Sean Hannitty. Try their sites. Boortz keeps part of his shows archive accessible on the web.

Well, yes, he can finish the job of destroying America -- ensuring that we have NO middle class, only hundreds of millions of us starving to death in the streets, while 0.1% own everything. His Contract ON America passed -- because democratic voters stayed home. That was just one of the series of Republican moves that has led to the current economic crisis, and the long-standing disappearance of a comfy middle class (not to mention environmental destruction). The questions isn't whether, with a compliant Congress, Newt can get his agenda through, the question is why would anyone vote for an agenda that impoverishes 99.9% of the population, and leaves us nothing put toxic water to drink, and lethal sludge to breathe?

If he did say that, good for him. He's finally talking some sense. After endorsing that idiot Scuzzyfava (intentionally misspelled), I lost all faith in him. Thank God the Conservative Party of New York had some muscle on that issue.

Would have been the most reasonable thing he's said lately.

Considering that he endorsed the (R) Dede Scozzafava, who has now dropped out of the race in NY 23rd.

I don't know if Newt said it or not. I never read any article quoting him and you didn't provide a source. But if he didn't say it... he SHOULD have!!! Its darned accurate

That is a good point, a prize is nothing compared to controlling a entire country- with nothing in his backround to prove he could run a country. .
