If everyone's just out to sell their own religion, what are atheists selling?

I am selling the fact that if we are to be redeemed, we are to redeem ourselves. We are the gods, and worshipping any other gods other than ourselves is the real blashphemy. I am actively trying to create heaven on earth while you sit around and wait for your god.

You are right, we atheists do not have anything to to sell, and no collection plates. The word atheist just means "someone who does not believe in any God" - that's it. You can think of us as the rare customer who just doesn't want to buy a bunch of crap we don't need...

Separation of church and state, funding for stem cell research, equal rights for gays, and alcohol on sundays.

A little reason and logic. You know, critical thinking, empirical validation, etc. From these few simple ideas one can derive a sane, vibrant, creative and equitable approach to life. No talking shrubbery required.

Good point, and as I have said on here I view atheism as a kind of religion, since it is a belief system. (I believe there is no God, just as the religious person believes there is)

What I'm 'selling' is sanity. If no one, or at least few persons, believed in God, the churches would not be there, tax paying businesses would occupy their space. Governments would spend less time (money) trying to accommodate religion. Fewer abortion doctors would be killed. Fewer women would be raped in the name of Allah.

I think the world would be better, safer, and saner.
