Regarding what you think?

I promise this isn't a rant. I just want to make my point as to why I'm asking this:

I always see so much negativity towards each other here. I know some people are negative because they know they can but, but I'd like to know what the serious people; Liberal, Conservative, Republican, Democrat, or whoever you associate yourself; have come across this situation:

A member of the opposing party has done something you agreed with.

It doesn't have to be something major. It can be as small as showing support for someone, a group, a good cause, etc.

As for myself (for those who are curious), off the top of my head (I'm writing this question on a whim), I can think of Obama's extension of School days, which I think would be better for our children (and please, I'm just generalizing, I know there are possible flaws that would need to be discussed and if you'd love to talk about it with me, feel free to send me a message).

Please, serious answers only. I don't care if you hate a political figure of an opposing party. This isn't about that. Unfortunately, I see that most people tend to look at the negative aspect of things, regardless of the opposing party's intentions.

extending the school days would be a terrible idea.

Being overworked makes you LESS productive.

(not to mention that keeping the schools open that long would cost a fortune.)

Anyway; I'm a Democrat........some of the things Republicans have done that I agree with include:

    -the patriot act

    -pro-life stance on abortion

    -opposition to affirmative action

I oppose Obama on so many levels, I have lost count. However, when I heard his "idea" about extending the school times, I found the FIRST point I could agree with. What makes it even MORE intriguing is that there are dozens of examples of how successful this has been, specifically Japans system .

Other than that one, it is impossible to find anything else I don't find anti-American or insulting.

Well, so far liberals have continued to let me express my opinions even if it's harsh and hurts the feelings of someone who disagrees with me. Oh, wait, they're constantly trying to silence me for saying anything they find "offensive."

(I'm trying to drop a hint about my right to express my opinion harshly if I feel like it.)
