How do you report someone you expect has multiple accounts?
Over in Dogs, there is someone I, and many others, suspect of having multiple accounts in order to get extra BAs.
I have only noticed an option to report their answer to a question, but with their questions and answers hidden anyway it's difficult to find the questions they answer, let alone what their other accounts do.
I can't find anything about it in the help section and myself and many others are getting very frustrated at the speed of which their BAs total goes up on the leaderboard.
Any advice would be much appreciated!
Thanks so much!
I sent an email in - whether or not anything is done, well we'll see. Fingers crossed though!
Yes Catherine, I was a TC. I got a violation so I think that lost it - I got a little too nasty towards some wannabe BYB.
Yeah, I think it's pretty pathetic too. I mean, who really cares if you have the most BAs on some online advice site.
Thanks to others who have noticed this behaviour and want to help, much appreciated!
Actually, I've read the rules, and multiple accounts is not allowed.
I'm not being a snitch, the user in question shoots up the leaderboard in record time and spreads lies and bias as they do it - and I, and many others, would rather they were stopped.
Thanks Jennifer.
"so creating multiple accounts or posting content for the sole purpose of gaining points"
They are definitely doing this, so hopefully the reporting works.

I know who you're talking about and have reported her myself. They said they'd investigate but her account is still alive and kicking!
You need to email YA.
y_answrs_team@yahoo.com (typo is on purpose)
Give a link to her profile and say that you suspect her of point gaming.

There are plenty of members with multiple accounts. Different people have their reasons for having multiple accounts. I have seen some apostates that have multiple accounts. I've seen those that are not JW's but they are not apostate and they have multiple accounts. I've also seen JW's with multiple accounts. People have different reasons for having multiple accounts and there is nothing necessarily wrong with it. Edit: Here is what it says from the community guidelines. "Don't create multiple accounts to troll or otherwise violate these guidelines or the Yahoo! Terms of Service." This is addressing the matter of creating multiple accounts for the specific purpose of trolling. People have legitimate reasons for creating multiple accounts and the only purpose that the guidelines speak against is trolling. If someone abuses Y!A with multiple accounts, Yahoo can suspend the offending account(s).

Here is an extract from the Community Guidelines concerning multiple accounts:~
"Our points system is meant to reward the community members for sharing questions and answers, so creating multiple accounts or posting content for the sole purpose of gaining points or soliciting others for points is not permitted. Posting filler answers to a question in an effort to be first to answer, or copying and pasting other members' answers, are also forms of cheating".
So, creating multiple accounts in itself is not a violation of the guidelines. What is a violation is to post a question in one account, answer it from another account and award yourself best answer.
Or, answering the same question more than once from different accounts, to have a better chance of being chosen best answer either in voting or if chosen by the Asker.
If the person is using the multiple accounts to vote for himself then this is against the guidelines although he is allowed to vote once for himself.

I guess I'm oblivious to the fact that someone could have multiple accounts.I on;y can figure out how to have one e-mail account let alone bother with setting up multiples. What is the purpose of TU or votes? Some people get to carried away on YA as I have seen but to give themselves votes is really LOW
- How do you think about the answers? You can sign in to vote the answer.

if you do it for 1 then you would have to do it for all of them .
I can name you 7 in dogs with multiple accounts how do i know this when i go back to check answers in voting certain people seem to have 6 and 7 votes each time.
The sad thing is these people are well respected on here but i am amazed why any 1 would want to vote with multiple accounts i don't see the point its not like you get a prize
Whilst you can report it wont do you any good yahoo don't listen .
you also have to provide proof do you have any i don't care who points games in any section i come on here to help people and educate especially in fish a lot of ignorant people there but i get more best answers in fish and pregnancy than i do in the dogs section .

Put it in the reasons for reporting, that you suspect multiple accounts and points gaming. Yahoo can check IP addresses to prove or disprove it.

I don't know but I can tell you I only have one account. I am too busy, have a full time job, 9 dogs, a husband and a company to run.
I don't have time neither do I have the desire to have more than one account.
Good luck.

I have no idea who you are talking about... **wink wink**
Thanks for the question though! I think I will follow in your footsteps.
btw, were you a top contributor? I swear I remember you being one... I lost mine today :(
Best of luck!

You would need to send all the proof/evidence that you have to Yahoo and let them sort it out.
