What do you think of Chuck Norris' article?

Update:

Well, he's more than just a movie star, he's a vet who lost his brother in Vietnam.

He's also well-versed in politics, speaking with an informed opinion, and not just championing a cause without logic.

As a "political scientist," former military officer, and Sr. International Security Specialist who spent 16 months in Iraq (pre and post-surge) I know inaction can be just as bad (if not worse) than the wrong action. Obama is getting people killed by appearing to be indecisive, when in all actuality he made the choice to do nothing and let our people die when they got overrun by radicals.

Update 2:

He's just trying to get his book out there and to the troops. I can attest- almost everyone I knew over there would have loved to have gotten a Chuck Norris book. His facts are everywhere, and sometimes the only thing that made us smile after a long hard day. He knows it, and he's just trying to impart a little bit of that caring- which is why he risked his neck to go visit so many times.

He's not a young guy anymore, yet he still went out time and again. Heck, I'm a fairly young guy and the trip out there was rough enough on me!

Chuck Norris makes an excellent point. Also, Chuck Norris has a fair amount of experience in the Military Himself. Before Chuck Norris became an actor, Chuck Norris served honorably and well in the United States Military.

Although normally I would not take a Hollywood Actor seriously on any subject, Chuck Norris does have the credentials to comment on Military Issues because Chuck Norris has some very good military experience himself.

Essentially Obama is micromanaging his Generals.

This is precisely the worst thing that he could possibly do.

When Obama receives a request for more troops from one of his commanding Generals, Obama's response that he wants to study the issue and think about it is precisely the wrong response.

By studying the issue and thinking about it and delaying the decision, essentially Obama is micromanaging his General.

Anyone who has worked for a boss who micromanages people and refuses to make decisions knows what a mess this kind of a boss can make of things.

When you have someone like this in the Presidency, the results will be very bad not only for our Troops in the field, but also for all Citizens of The United States of America.

I appreciate Chuck Norris's, "President Obama, stop riding the fence!" comment. Indeed, we need some action here. Talk is cheap if that's all there's going to be. He (Obama) talks the talk, but can he walk the walk?

nah, i read a bit of it.

i'd rather have a thoughtful constitutional scholar actually weigh the reality of the situation before commiting troops (because you know these same wack-job connies are going to scream about 'rushing in and having no exit strategy' once troops are sent) than some semi-illiterate movie star who really knows nothing about the real world.

the president has accepted that there will be people who will write this kind of tripe no matter what decision he makes and so he won't allow it to influence this most important decision.

and i say good for him for that.

but i love how radical republicans whine and bray on and on about how the bad ole liberal movie stars should keep their mouths shut, but ed asner, charlton heston, ronald reagan, ted nugent and chuck norris are just fine.

what do i think of that article?

i don't think of it at all...

Source(s): that last is an ayn rand-ism. i love doing that to radical righties...

bush /cheney didnt seem to think it a big deal for 8 years. it's easier to direct a war on a movie set and have delta forces win the day.

I think Chuck is a good actor. The weight of this decision is enormous. I support President Obama taking his time to get it right.

Not only is the jerk the worst actor since Van Johnson he doesn't have the slightest idea what he's talking about.

Chuck Norris died months ago. By his own hand - the fool.

It was interesting - up until the point where he started selling his book. It is SHAMEFUL to market your crap on the backs of our dead troops.
