Yeah it's pretty cool but I'd be scared to sleep on it...would be afraid of ghosts.

What's more important is the capability of this ship.

It can deploy tactical troops and air craft anywhere in the world.

We should commit to building many more of these along with more carriers and Virginia Class Subs.

The commitment would allow us to begin shutting down some of the 735 bases in 150 foreign countries that we don't need and can't afford.

We need a more nimble, more effective and more cost efficient military.

That would truly be an expression of honor to the 9-11 fallen.

I hardly think of it as "Scrap metal" first off. I think it is very appropriate to take something destroyed by hatred and forge something meant for good. I hope she will be loved by her men who will see her as a symbol and that she will be respected as a piece of history. I don't see a down side at all.

Not really. It's just another ship made from recycled metal to me. I don't think it'll be much use hunting down the senior leadership of Al Qaeda, who are hiding in the mountains of central Asia. I don't usually get emotional for what is in essence a publicity stunt.

I am really glad they did that with the USS New York as well, and it is very moving that the families were invited to come see the new ship.

That is really special. My cousin died in WTC2 on 9/11 along with 21 of his colleagues and friends.

    Never forget!

yes it's cool. anything that can be recycled should be recycled. and this steel were thousands of lives were lost can be reborn as a WAR ship to take thousands of lives of someone else family and friends. yea it's cool really cool.

Source(s): when do it stop.......... the cycle.

I just wish they made it a battleship or a aircraft carrier or even a submarine. Its a measley troop transport, we dont transport many troops via ship anymore.

    Yes, I was moved also.

Too many people have forgotten about what happened. And the media pushes it under the rug also.
