Subaru Outback (2004) vs Toyota Corolla (2010)?
Which is the better buy?
Outback ($14000) has 80,000 km mileage and Corolla ($16500) is brand new. Both with warranty.
The condition I am in is 6 months of snow per year. Outback has more space and better vehicle handling in all terrain, but Corolla is new and less lightly to break down.
I am torn between 2 choice. Can I have a an opinion from cyber, and some facts to back the opinion please?
Oh Gosh, I attracted fools again. . . I am really sorry.

Hi,
New car has their advantage of lesser break down as you have said too. All terrain road handling, subaru do have the advantage.
You may want to look into the overall commitment, including the interest on the loan, terms of repayment, and the insurance too. You may also want to look into the resale value.
If you are selling next year, old Subaru will not dip any much further, but for new car, be prepared to drop by 30% or more.
For me, i will choose Subaru Outback. Have fun.

I'm not sure I agree, especially if you are looking for AWD performance. The Outback is a great car. The boxer engine is strong and it has plenty of comfort and cargo space for any one's needs. But $14,000 USD is way to much to pay for a 6 year old Subaru. (Since it's km maybe you're CDN, I don't know.) Do your research and determine if the price of the Subaru is fair.
It would be a much superior car if you had to deal with 6 months of winter.

If you're just doing daily driving in the winter, go for the Corolla. A lot of people use them in the winter and come along just fine.
That Subaru sounds overpriced. Check out cars the Suzuki Sx-4 and Subaru Impreza.

get a less old subaru legacy, small like a corolla but has AWD as all subaru's do, or maybe even an impreza. if you have snow, corolla probably isn't good. but you can get a MUCH cheaper awd car that's newer, that's a ripoff.
look at:
subaru legacy
subaru impreza
subaru forester
toyota rav4 awd
honda crv awd

Are you going to be driving a lot in the snow (commuting etc.), if so go for the Outback, but I think the price is a little too high. If you're not going to be driving all that much buy the corolla. Have you looked at a used Infiniti G-35x. I think it's AWD.

Are you kidding?????
Of course a brand new car with a full factory warranty is better!!!!
