Can someone name any part of our lives the government couldn't control if they controlled our health care?

And remember, the government might not always be run by the guys you voted for.

Update:

Tuck, not saying they would, saying they could.

Steve, just posing a hypothetical here.

Update 2:

Zap, just posing a hypothetical here.

They got us by the proverbial short hairs once they control your health care.

Every thing from what car you drive to what food you eat and where you live can be controlled due to "increased risk of health costs."

And they'd do it through ridiculous taxes.

To the first poster, here's a freedom I got that you don't: I can still, (for the moment anyway), keep more than 45% of what I earn.

There are plenty of people in tax brackets in your country that can't say that.

Are you keen to enable great government administration your existence? This us of a has an impressive wellbeing care device. the companies do no longer administration our lives, the government is desirous to regulate our lives in the process the wellbeing care 'reform' that's in basic terms a complete takeover of our coverage companies. i do no longer see companies controlling our lives yet actual the Obama administration attempting to. The congress makes the regulations, they regulate companies (re:coverage) with those regulations in the process the IRS, The FCC, the SEC and an incredible sort of different government branches the 'reform' mandatory for wellbeing care ought to start with much less mandates from the governments. or maybe putting into place regulation requiring the coverage companies to conceal those with pre latest circumstances. it is how reform must be in the process the removing of government participation, no longer with the federal gov. taking on all companies. NO to government 'controlled' wellbeing care, and definite to Freedom. Liberty for all, no longer tyranny. God Bless usa

The government can't control anything, that's the thing. There is no consequence for the governments lack of control. If the control is lacked, there will be tax increases to subsidize the costs.

They can't face bankruptcy, there is no such thing as customer satisfaction because there is no rival competitor.

This is why the DMV sucks.

Tucking Fypos: I can name various advantages we have over Canadians. Let's take health care. I don't have to wait weeks-months for an operation like you do. Also Canada has made the best drug for colon cancer illegal because it's too expensive. I can get that drug here in America through my health insurance. That's why statistically Canadians die of Colon Cancer more then Americans. Sucks right I know. Businesses have to cut costs, and so does the government. Just when the government does it, you don't directly see it.

Public Option is the stepping stone to socialized medicine. Anyone refuting this doesn't have a brain. How is it can an insurance company compete fairly vs a gov plan that can't go bankrupt and doesn't need a profit. This is the stupidest thing I've ever heard. Calling this a scare tactic does not refute my message. It's just words.

Deb M: I know you're uneducated right when you said Wall Street controls health care. (Way to be a Michael Moore Zombie). I say this because health care is only sold in that state you live in only. The no state lines regulation prohibits health insurance firms to sell in another state. How can Wall Street sell health care outside of NY, if the law is, you can't sell outside your state. I know you like being spoon fed information. Time to wake up.

Hey, typo, how about owning a handgun, being able to hunt with a handgun. Even being able to hunt in some provinces.

And don't give me that crap about crime and handguns. Criminals in Canada have guns just like every other country.

There are millions of hunters here that are not criminals.

As far as health care goes, what percentage income tax do you pay there. significantly more that most do here.

The problem here is they democrats want some people to pay for everyone's healthcare. I would be for it here if everyone paid the same amount, but that is not how it will be.

Since we elect our representatives, WE are the government. Therefore, we're controlling our own lives. Just because the majority of America doesn't agree with you does not mean the government is doing anything it's not supposed to be doing.

The health care reforms proposed is not the government controlling our health care, and to continue to say that it is, is simply a scare tactic.

Every part. I live in Canada, and I dare you to name one freedom you have that I don't, other than wasting my money on insurance that may just reject me when I need them.

Hey Frank: I can donate a kidney and still get free health care can you?

    http://www.myfoxdc.com/dpp/health/dpgo_Organ_Donor...

Also, you didn't list one freedom I do not have, Canada has private clinics, so I can get the elective procedures that normally take awhile. Which means my freedoms are still intact.

Tracer: Handguns are not illegal. Gun crime is way down compared to the U.S. Also we pay as much in taxes as you do for healthcare per person already. Look it up.

Oh, so you would rather have wall street control your health care...or the greedy companies like the good doctor described to the republican congress in 1996...and they did not act on it!

Good point...but while the good guys are in congress...they need to establish standards. I cannot understand why anyone would ever vote republican. I have been looking for years for a republican to vote for and I have not found one yet!

Nope, but if you continue to be outspoken like you are, look out, you will be scheduled for a mandatory doctor visit under 0bamacare.

And you know what that means.

They can't seem to run the DMV according to the posts I read.
